Thelma & Louise
Thelma & Louis is a 1991 movie directed by and starring women! The screenplay was written by Carolyn Ann "Callie" Khouri, Genna Davis played Thelma, and Susan Sarandon played Louise. The movie shows the two women as outlaws, acting violently, and their life on the road away from their husband and children. Thelma & Louise blazed the pathway for future films. It broke the mold of traditional movie genres as it is more than a "chick flick" and more than an action movie.

Hidden Figures
Hidden Figures is based off of a true story. Three African-American women worked at NASA during the Space Race in 1961 as mathematicians and engineers. The movie tells a lesser-known story about incredibly brilliant women. Working in a male-dominated environment, the movie shows the discrimination women of color faced. They were looked down upon and disrespected in countless ways. However, their intelligence is what made the flight trajectories for Project Mercury possible. Katherine Johnson is played by Taraji P. Henson, Dorothy Vaughan is played by Octavia Spencer, and Mary Jackson is played by Janelle Monáe.
